About this deal

What really confused us, and then confused us more when we looked at the (rather brief) instructions, was what happens if the finishing position that you are sat on then becomes occupied by another player’s piece. So if you are already sat there and someone else in the game, coming at them at right angles, sends then home. Do they then send you home? Are you aiming to get to the other player’s coloured squares, or the row in front of them? Home you go! – our verdict Filed Under: Games for two players, Toy Review Tagged With: game review, ninja, review, slap ninja, toy review, Two player game Vintage MB Games – Super 3 With the strapline “A second to learn… a lifetime to master” I can happily confirm that Slap Ninja is an incredibly easy game to learn to play. Mastering it however is a totally different story. The code breaker has up to 12 attempts to break the code and each time they are told (using other coloured pegs) whether they have any pegs of the right colour in the correct position, or just how many pegs they have placed are the right colour but in the wrong position. One of the most obvious things when you look at the deluxe Master Mind box is that a different couple appear on the cover. Again you have the seated white business man, but this time behind him is a woman of Indian appearance. It’s still an iconic look, but a different couple. This extended version of the game also appears to have gone by the name Super Master Mind too. The games inside are identical from what I can tell, but the name different. Possibly for different markets.

As with so many games of this period, there’s an obvious educational angle to Superpuzzle, which is why it reminded me so much of school maths lessons. It’s also the kind of thing that children of today might smirk at a bit, but yet when my nine year old walked in on me playing at the kitchen table she suddenly wanted a go! Spear’s Superpuzzle – the facts The rules of Slap Ninja are quite straight-forward, and it’s aimed at 4yrs+ which I would agree with. Browse the complete collection for more and enjoy playing any of these free online ninja games on your desktop and mobile devices. Now, Super 3 isn’t a game that I’m at all familiar with and a bit of online research suggests that it only came out under the name Super 3 I’m 1978. There was a 1992 variant called Super Tic-Tac-Toe, but it appears that it was relatively short-lived. I’m pretty sure that most people my age played games in maths lessons at school that involved making pictures from some basic shapes. Either plastic ones if your school had a bit of money, or cut from paper or card if your school had a stretched budget. That’s basically what Superpuzzle from Spear’s Games is.There’s no date on my copy of Superpuzzle, but I believe it to date from either the late 60s or early 70s. Certainly the days before people had phones or computers to entertain them on a wet Sunday afternoon. The Aim of the game is for the student to hit the coin button without receiving a slap from the master! Do this 3 times and you win – and the master must feel the buzz of shame (don’t worry, it doesn’t hurt at all. Unlike the ache from your dented ego when a small child beats you at Slap Ninja…) Moose adored playing this game. It takes no set up, it’s small enough to take in the car and there are no small parts to lose. He has challenged every member of the household and has so far held his position as ninja master. Childhood is gone in the blink of an eye [except the sleepless nights part, that lasts for decades I think] and I wanted to enjoy every moment I could and make it as fun as possible.

Superpuzzle is something that you an either play on your own, or against another player. The game contains two sets of twenty four pieces (one set red and one green) with each set having 12 each of two different shapes – a rectangle, and what could be described as a rectangle with a corner cut off! Moose is heavily into all things ninja at the moment. He was therefore overjoyed to arrive home from school to find a brand new ninja focused game ready and waiting for him! What’s in the box?

Home you go! – our verdict

Super 3 is actually a fantastic game to play one on one with a child. It worked brilliantly for my 6 year old son. Complicated enough that he didn’t get bored, but not so complicated that he found it hard and gave up. It requires a bit of strategic though and to understand the rules about when you can place a peg where, but it’s a brilliant game for practicing adding up the totals on two dice too.

As an exhausted mom to 3 beautiful boys aged 5-11, Keep Up With the Jones Family began as a family blog and turned into my passion. Now, the bit we weren’t totally clear on is if you tell the code breaker which peg is the right colour in the right position. We did, but I’m finding rules online that suggest you should go either way. This was our first attempt so I was keeping things easy. The Slap Ninja controller is modelled after a karate bench. On top there are 3 led lights at either end. One of the “bench legs” is plain, the other has a small button on it and a trigger. Above this “bench leg” is a red coin and a giant ninja hand. TheSlap Ninja game is aimed at children aged 4 and up. I think that this is pretty accurate. Not least because the trigger to control the giant hand takes some effort to squeeze. Once opened the box contained an instruction leaflet and the Slap Ninja game. The game requires three AAA batteries which come included. What Age is Slap Ninja For? Firstly, it’s worth pointing out the Master Mind the game has absolutely nothing at all to do with the television programme. Nothing at all.I found the board a little bit fiddly to use, and again I can see how that might have put some players off. Especially if they had big fingers. But, before we move on to deluxe Master Mind, let’s start with the original game. The History of Master Mind Items that are not available in store will take 3-5 working days (excluding weekends and bank holidays) to be delivered to your nominated store. The suspense element of the Slap Ninja game adds a competitive edge, which Fin particularly enjoys, especially against his dad and his sister.
