About this deal

The overall storyline, buildup, convergence of the past & present, and the pace is good. The plot itself has some weak elements in it though. But one of them is on the edge of telling the truth – and no show in the world could survive this scandal...

If you only read one book this year, then Guilty Women won't disappoint. It will leave you breathless”

In the sexy tradition of the 70’s and 80’s bonkbuster Guilty Women is fun, sassy, entertaining and juicy.

The wedding wasn't mentioned other than being a device to get these people together at the resort for the week. The bride was barely mentioned (although she was supposedly their best friend?) and the end was a little out of left field. This read more like women keeping secrets from each other and a slow reveal to find out what they were rather than a mystery of any kind. Guilty Women's stamped it's razor sharp, blood-stained stiletto heel firmly in the lead to be 2022's book of the year' The Daily Mirror THE AUTHOR: Originally from St. Paul, Minnesota, Gina LaManna has also called Italy and Los Angeles home. After studying numbers and equations in college, she realized multiple choice tests were “just not for her” and began writing books instead. She loves cappuccino foam and whipped cream and would subsist solely on sprinkles if possible. She currently lives in St. Paul with her wonderful husband and family.A group of former college roommates get together to celebrate the marriage of one of their friends. The story takes place at a fancy resort in California. Despite the fact that the former besties have become estranged, they somehow get mixed up in a murder... and the story unravels from there. We return to Falcon Bay in Guilty Women– tell us a bit about what readers can expect from the second instalment in this exciting trilogy? I was initially pulled right in to Pretty Guilty Women. The opening was intriguing and I immediately began to form some theories around the mystery aspect of the novel. I liked the formatting of Pretty Guilty Women. LaManna divides her time between the four female friends, so we learn about the state of affairs in each woman’s life. As the book progresses and secrets are exposed, we discover that each woman has their own problems.

This is a well written and rather unputdownable new take on Big Little Lies. I guess this says a lot about the plot for anyone who's either read the book or watched the series. So, yes the necessary keywords like abuse and redemption are potentially there... If you love TV soap operas and drama you’ll no doubt enjoy this entertaining read. Guilty Women by Melanie Blake certainly has a Dynasty 70- 80’s vibe about it. It’s steamy, glamorous with flawed, totally unlikeable characters and murder. Oh god, I would kill for some drinks on the beach, I salivated as a woman screamed at me over the phone furious that we would not open the shop on Sunday for her and only her. We know from the beginning that a man is dead. We don't know who it is or who killed him. All four women admit to killing him. So the reader knows two things: the man is a character we are going to meet. And the four women are covering up for someone. There are so many twists and turns and for a brief moment I thought there would be very different ending, but instead just wow. But one of them is on the edge of telling the truth – and no show in the world could survive this scandal…
