I don’t have much faith in blind dating to begin with and have not bothered with it in real life, but are people really so horrible? But now that Hazel is working with Josh’s sister, a new bond is formed; Josh and Hazel try to help each other out by setting up blind double dates, but the more time they spend together the more they realize that their assumptions about each other may have been wrong, and that their burgeoning friendship matters more than either ever expected it would. I also loved that this book had some deliciously steamy scenes, but overall those were just accessories to the overall plot.

She can’t help but say exactly what’s on her mind the second it pops up and boy does that get her into trouble. It’s so much pressure for me to have to choose my favorite, but I’ll admit tha t Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating is definitely a new favorite Christina Lauren read of mine! ABOUT THE BOOK: Anna Green thought she was marrying Liam “West” Weston for access to subsidized family housing while at UCLA. I haven't read a lot of romance stories, so I could be wrong, but this felt like a relatively unique premise, which was great. Her vibrancy, her enthusiasm, all her quirks that makes her such a unique individual that has taken everything in her empowering personality to admire herself and not care what others thing about her, is what truly captivates the reader to wanting to read more, CRAVE that kind of writing that Christina and Lauren always seem to specialize in.

It’s the kind of relationship that I always wished to have with my own mum, and I’m lucky that I do have that to an extent, though not as wildly open as theirs. I mean, dude, this is really good (I even put notes in my audiobook book so I could go back and listen again). For a more engaging “dating” game, try Sally Thorne’s The Hating Game, an adult romance about competitive co-workers who love to hate each other.

Every now and then they think they have a reason to hold back, but the reader knows it’s bogus and not going to last. It was the second book that I read this week that went that way, being the first When He was Wicked, with the second epilogue. The problem for me started when Hazel gave up on trying not to like him and still kept scheduling dates when she clearly didn’t want him to be with anyone else. I also like Josh's relationship with his sister and his Mom, and how their Korean culture is mentioned from time to time and their traditions! It’s admirable of Christina Lauren to include a female character that is so entirely confident and herself that she would rather keep trying over and over and end up alone after every failure than consider changing who she is. Josh y Hazel se complementan, son completamente opuestos pero estado juntos funcionan completamente. That, combined with the fact that she also reminded me of Lucy from The Hating Game made me love her.

in my middle school teaching era✨ this is my third year teaching middle school ELA and my best bulletin board so far (probably ever). I honestly could perfectly picture this book, and I actually think it would make for a fantastic romcom movie adaptation. Josh is a little apprehensive about letting Hazel get close and you kind of can’t blame him; she did once proposition him and then proceed to barf on his shoes. Also, there's a lot of fighting back against slut shaming and women being able to do what they want, which I think was great.
