Easily clean it with the swipe of a cloth and once the traction pad wears down, you can replace it with a new one. They wash and dry beautifully and zip back on easily, AND the toggle system that allows you to fold it up for storage is ingenious. I do recommend keeping it locked away when it's not in use as it is a choking/bowel obstruction hazard if your cats are prone to chewing and/or eating strings. The feather toy part is not made very strong; one feather came right off just casting the toy and the reel handles are 1/4" long, not an actual handle.
