About this deal

The standard treatment for ADHD is medication in the form of stimulants -- it doesn't work for everyone, but there is no mention of that at all here, so we don't know if she's medicated or not. Creating content as the neuro-diverse half of ADHD Love, she is passionate about helping others reach the same acceptance she has found. I never thought about the possibility that maybe the meds only “fix” a portion of my symptoms and not ALL of them and that I may not actually be a sh*t human! I relate to what’s being presented, I laughed, I reflected, I’ve talked non stop to everyone I know about this book.

Richard's sections have this habit of referring to the person in question with ADHD as "your ADHD-er", which just as easily could be replaced with "your labrador" or "your jack russel terrier" with regards to how someone with ADHD views the world and behaves. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has adhd or in a relationship with someone who has it.By completing your purchase, you agree to Audible's Conditions of Use and authorise Audible to charge your designated card or any other card on file. I did briefly say to myself "I'm never late", but I could hear my entire family laughing uproariously in my head at that notion and quickly came back down to reality.

To see those very vulnerable stories resonate with so many people has been incredibly heart-warming. It's an easy read, finished in a few hours, and I must admit, I shed a few tears and had a few "oh my god, that's an ADHD thing too?I just wrote and then deleted a massive list of the things I am going to try and be more compassionate about – but you don’t really need to know that! While this summary provides a valuable introduction to the key themes explored in the original book, it does not aim to replace the comprehensive depth and breadth of the authors' work. She might have even shown you the functional clay model she had made, or shared her history books, or shown you some presentations, or given countless other obscure facts – all about ancient Egypt. While I could not care less about the authors their lives and whatever works for them is fine by me, but the way this book portrays ADHD is simply not true. I'm grateful for those willing to be vulnerable in sharing their stories but at the same time do not recommend this book to someone in the beginning stages of understanding their ADHD diagnosis given all the options out there that include a more balanced approach with anecdotes and science.
